Mayor Deputy of Yogyakarta, Haryadi Suyuti ensure tourism and hotel industry recovers after Merapi eruption at the end of last year which was indicated by the number of the international agenda in Yogyakarta.

"The trust of foreign countries against the city of Yogyakarta after Merapi eruption increased. This is supported by promotion of related offices and currently have many international events held in the city of Yogyakarta. At the same time evidence of success during this campaign," Mayor Deputy of Yogyakarta said.



According Haryadi’s statement,the revival of the tourism industry was started with a meeting of Yogyakarta Tourism Promotion Board (BP2KY/Badan Promosi Pariwisata Kota Yogyakarta) with the Tourism Promotion Organizatin (TPO), which consists of countries in East Asia to establish cooperation.



"The city of Yogyakarta has many heritage objects and has the advantage in the arts or culture. Being Education City is a magnet for tourists to come," he added.



Haryadi also added, during recovery the municipal government has provided the opportunity and support to BP2KY to pick tourism targets also indicators of the number of tourist visits impressions to erase tourism waiver image in Yogyakarta. (Source www.KRjogja.com)

Gunungkidul's beach visited by thosands visitors

WONOSARI – Some beach tour destination placed at Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta like Baron Beach, Kukup Beach, Krakal Beach and another beach visited by a lot of domestic tourist at the New Year 2011 holidays. Tourism & Culture Department of Gunungkidul government noted 14thousand visitor come to some beach at south. This visitor was increased more significant caused by not only New Year holidays but also school holidays were come. This visitor increasing and make a heavy traffic and jamming until 5 kilometers.

“Quantity of visitors at this New Year 2011 holidays predicted increase more than last year. Visitor increasing caused by any factor,” Birowo ST (Culture & Tourism Department) said. “This significant visitors increasing wills continues until Sunday, 9 January 2011,” he said.

From around 14 thousand visitor, the most visitors was come and visit Baron Beach which is the most popular beach in But some visitor also visiting Kukup Beach, Krakal Beach, Ngobaran Beach, Sundak Beach and others beautiful beach around Gunungkidul.
